Updated WIP 12-27-08

Ok - so not much new. I just wanted to post and document the lasted pic of my fairy WIP. Not much has changed when you look at the pic, but in real life it is much more vibrant than it was.

Progress on Fairy WIP 11-15-08

I am sure there are changes nobody but me will notice, but here it is! She still has a lot of work to go. I love oils but the drying time does make it take forever to finish a painting sometimes.....

My new fairy - WIP 11-02-08

Wow - it has been a year since I posted on here? Well since last November, I have had a baby - so I was pregnant for 9 of those 12 months. This is my first painting in a few months. Getting a trickle of creative juices - hope it turns into a river! Behold - I present to you my WIP fairy 12" x 16" oil on canvas! This is the preliminary sketch and blocking in of colors and theme.

I almost forgot about this one - probably because it is so small! It is a 5" x 7" oil on canvas.

Latest WIP ~ Poppies

This is an 18 x 24 oil on stretched canvas. Let me know your thoughts if you have any! ;) The highlights are not as bright as they appear in the photos - it is iridescent paint so shows up brightly in photographs. I still have some work to do on the background to even it out.

Wow ~ I have been terrible about keeping this up to date!

OK - well not much has happened since I last posted, but I have completed a new painting. I am only calling it Gypsy - it is 11" x 14" oil on canvas. The reference photo was taken by an English street photographer and I found the photo on www.wetcanvas.com. I am including reference photo, preliminary drawing and finished painting. Let me know what you think!

Finished Still Life and Riverfest

Well I finally finished that god forsaken still life (LOL) - and I am done with Riverfest 2007 in Farmington. It was great weather for it since it is an out door event, and I met a lot of cool people and other artists, like Michael Bulloch. Got a lot of compliments on my work which is great and some people took my cards - didn't sell anything but at least I got my name out there! May join the Four Corners Artists Association to find out about more events and mingle with other artists once a month, got invited to do so a couple of times. 3 Months?!?!

Ok, I just looked at the date of my last post...it's been 3 months since I last put anything on here! I started a new job in February, and have been working a few more hours a week than I am used to and was training for at least the first month. Guess it took a lot out of me, haven't made time for my art! It is springtime now, nice and pretty out, and I feel like working on my paintings/drawings again. I hope to display at Riverfest in Farmington at the end of May, but have to get all that set up. Will post soon w/pics!

Pics! I did a mermaid drawing (from a reference) and have slight updates to the still life I have been working on FOREVER. LOL
